The Role of a Ngakpa or Ngakma \ud83e\uddd8\u200d\u2642\ufe0f<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Ngakpa (male) or Ngakma (female) is a householder Vajrayana practitioner who has taken the Pratimoksha, Bodhisattva, and Vajrayana vows.
Unlike monastics, Ngakpas and Ngakmas live in the world \u2014 with families, professions, and responsibilities \u2014 while maintaining daily tantric practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their role is to embody and transmit the Ngakpa lineage through meditation, mantra, ritual, and yogic discipline, bringing Dharma into everyday life. They serve as teachers, healers, and ritual specialists, sowing the seeds of bodhicitta wherever they go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ngakpas and Ngakmas bridge the monastery and society, showing that awakening is possible within ordinary life. Through their vows and conduct, they protect samaya, preserve lineage integrity, and act as living links in Vajrayana\u2019s unbroken chain.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
